2016 is the year of virtual reality (VR). One of the leaders in VR development, Oculus, has finally revealed that their flagship device, the Rift, is coming out this March. What’s more, it’s available to pre-order now! But while that news might be exciting, know that the Rift comes at a sizeable cost.
The Rift is now available to pre-order for $599 USD on Oculus.com and will ship starting March 28. The VR headset will also be available in limited locations at select retailers starting in April. Each Rift includes the headset with built-in headphones and mic, remote, sensor, two free games (Lucky’s Tale and EVE Valkyrie) and an Xbox One controller.
Need a PC that the Rift will work on and have a little more money that you don’t mind blowing? Great! Oculus has also revealed that there are a few bundles that will be made available starting at $1,499.
If you backed the Rift Kickstarter at $275 or more, then guess what? You get a free Rift! You should be getting some info in your (e)mail about that.
20 games are confirmed to come out for the Rift this year and many more games and apps are in development. Sound off in the comments below! Are you getting a Rift?
