PlayStation has announced at GDC 2016 that its virtual reality headset, once known as Project Morpheus, will be coming out worldwide in October 2016 starting at $399 USD. Andrew House, President and Global CEO of PlayStation, left a brief message for gamers worldwide who could not attend the GDC press event. Originally, PlayStation VR was set to come out in the first quarter of 2016 but Mr. House attributes this delay to make sure that they could launch with “a broad variety of content and a sufficient supply of hardware.”
In addition to the release timeframe and price reveal, we got a look at all the contents of the package for the standalone headset. You can check out the picture below:

According to PlayStation, there are currently more than 230 developers making content for PlayStation VR and over 50 games which will be available from launch in October 2016 until the end of the year.
A bundle will also be offered for PS VR but those details are soon to come.
