Voltron VR Chronicles Announced, Coming In September

Voltron has made a big comeback with the Netflix show Voltron Legendary Defender from Dreamworks. To capitalize on that, Dreamworks has teamed up with developer Digital Domain who has created a new VR experience, Voltron VR Chronicles (based on the show). A VR exclusive interactive experience, Voltron VR Chronicles puts you in the role of the Blue Paladin, Lance, as you’re placed at the center of a massive conflict between the Voltron force and the Galra Emperor, Zarkon. The title seems to be episodic and is set to be released for PlayStation VR, Steam VR, and Oculus Rift starting September 26, 2017.

The TV show’s voice actors have returned for the experience along with the showrunners who provided some of their writing expertise. Leaning towards more of an interactive TV show, Voltron VR Chronicles has cinematics which feature a visual style reminiscent of the animated TV series but presented for the first time in 360° VR. The experience will also feature moments of interactivity where the user takes control of Lance’s actions. These interactive moments include several puzzles as well as missions where the user pilots the Blue Lion, battling Galra forces.

DreamWorks Voltron VR Chronicles will be available for purchase starting September 26 but for those of you who would like to pre-order it, you can pre-order exclusively on the PlayStation Store right now.
